Summer Heat, Be Cool With Coffee Frappe

Cool Off with a Coffee Frappe

Coffee beverages can be enjoyed any time of the year. However, a delicious Coffee frappe is an especially wonderful during those hot summer months.

Although you can purchase a coffee frappe from virtually any specialty coffee shop, they tend to be rather expensive. The good news is that you can easily create wonderful coffee frappes for an inexpensive price right at home.

A terrific coffee frappe is a wonderful and yummy treat to enjoy alone or to serve your guests no matter what the occasion or time of year.

There are a variety of different recipes that will allow you to create delicious frappes at home.

Left over coffee from breakfast can be saved to make a great frappe at a later point during the day. In fact, once you have some practice making frappes, you may just find that yours taste even better than your local coffee shop!

The following frappe recipe was meant to serve one, however you can of course adjust the recipe to make as much of this mouth watering treat as you like.

To make a frappe at home you simply need to brew, or use about 2/3 of a cup of leftover coffee that was made very strong. If the coffee is leftover, warm it up and add approximately a teaspoon of sugar or more if you want your frappe sweeter. Stir the blend until the sugar has dissolved and then add 1/3 of a cup of milk and stir once again.

Take out your blender and place 1/2 a cup of ice into the machine and add in your sweetened coffee mixture. Use the pulse button on your blender a couple of times until you notice that the ice in the machine is starting to break up.

At this point in the frappe making process, you will want to add in about 2 tablespoons of good vanilla ice cream to your blender. Turn the blender on to a medium setting and allow the blend to mix together.

Once the coffee and ice have blended together, you will want to add 1/2 of a cup more of ice. Turn your blender back on until your mixture is smooth. If you prefer a frappe that is thicker, you can throw in another 1/2 of a cup of ice or so.

Your frappe is now ready to be poured from the blender into tall glasses. Serve your frappe right away and remember to use a straw if desired.

There is another frappe recipe you can create at home that is slightly different but just as delicious.

To make this frappe, you will need to crush 18 ice cubes in your blender. To this, you will add about seven ounces of very strong coffee although for this recipe you want your coffee to be chilled, not warm. Add in two heaping tablespoons of sugar and two tablespoons of your favorite flavor of syrup. Some wonderful choices for syrup that taste just delicious in a frappe are vanilla, hazelnut or raspberry.

One your ingredients are all in your blender turn the machine on and allow it to work until your mixture is smooth. The frappe is poured into very tall glasses and you can garnish with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

Some people enjoy frappe’s that have a kick, and the next frappe recipe will provide you with exactly that.

To create a spicy frappe, you will need the following-

600 ml of very strong coffee that has been freshly brewed.

2 tablespoons of sugar.

2 cinnamon sticks.

4 cloves.

4 peppercorns.

2 cardamoms that have been crushed.

150 ml of whipping cream.

8 ice cubes.

A couple of teaspoons of coca powder. You could also opt to use grated milk chocolate or unsweetened chocolate squares instead.

Once your coffee is brewed, add all of your spices and cover the mixture and allow it to reach room temperature. When it is at room temperature, place the blend in the fridge for about two hours to allow the flavors to steep throughout. Strain your coffee at this stage and throw away the spices.

In a blender, mix your coffee, whipping cream, sugar and ice cubes until you have a mixture that is very smooth and frothy.

Pour the blend directly into tall glasses and sprinkle your preferred form of chocolate liberally over the top. Your frappe is now ready to be thoroughly enjoyed.
